A plan to revitalize playgrounds in Sudbury has received backing, in the form of “Healthy Community Initiative funds”. $6-million dollars was endorsed by committee members this week.
Of the nearly 200 playgrounds, 58 were slated to need immediate attention. 45 were satisfactory, but will require an upgrade in five to 10 years.
The funding is funneled annually, with each ward receiving $50,000.
