Greater Sudbury’s seven noise bylaws were amalgamated into one last night. The bylaws and the 19 amendments attached to them, support key themes which include: standard prohibited times, and the use of both subjective and objective investigative techniques
Council will not seek OPP costing
Meanwhile North Bay city council will not be seeking a costing from the Ontario Provincial Police. The contentious issue was revisited last night but ended in a tie vote.
1 impaired driver for January… in Timmins
Numbers for January continue to pour in, and in the city of Timmins the single impaired driver arrested has been identified as 38-year-old female. This was following a motor vehicle collision in the area of Highway 655 and Ross Ave.
Bridge traffic is up
The International Bridge splitting Sault Ste. Marie Ontario and its US counterpart says one-way traffic crossings is up for the Month of January. A total of 99,606 for the month of January represents an increase of 6.4%, over January of last year.
Back in black… by 2021
Health Sciences North’s new CEO, Dominic Giroux, says he’s planning on having the Hospial back in the black by 2021. This is after hospital reported the largest deficit of the 23 academic health science centres in the province last year, at $7.13-million.
Trudea speaks in Timmins
Activist, Author and Mother to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Margaret Trudeau was in Timmins yesterday. She spoke on her struggles with a bipolar disorder and reminded those who came that knowledge is key while stigma is based on fear. This was at Northern College, in connection with Canadian Mental Health Association.
