28 year old caught speeding… while suspended
A 28-year-old North Bay man has been pulled into check with Sudbury OPP. This is was he was spotted driving, and while under suspension this week. Reports say he was called in from Highway 17 within Greater Sudbury. His licence has been suspended. He will be in court, April 9th.
Stay off the ice near water-way
Those still holding the throttle down when it comes to snowmobile season in North Bay are being told to stay off the ice, especially… Parks Creek near Lakeshore Drive. The conservation authority says that ice removal is starting, and that the creek and entry point into Lake Nipissing is highly unstable.
Fire does damage to historical building
A fire has caused heavy damage to one of the oldest buildings in South Porcupine. Said to be one of the first medical buildings before the hospital was built in 1926 and provided of health care in the 1930’s, firefighters were called to the two-storey house fire at the corner of Dunn Avenue and Warner Street around 2:40 p.m. yesterday. No serious injuries were reported, at the now residence. One man was treated after having trouble breathing.
One charged after running a red light, collision
A failure to obey a red light resulted in a two-vehicle collision at Queen and Elgin yesterday in Sault Ste. Marie. A collision serious enough that traffic is being diverted down Elgin Street until the intersection is cleared. The driver of an SUV has been charged.
Update from yesterday:
A 21-year old Sudbury Man is in Custody following a driving incident over the weekend. It started with Police attempting to pull over a red, two-door car that was driven dangerously on the Lasalle Boulevard extension. Thanks to tips from the public, Police say they now have the driver, and he’s facing significant charges.
