Individual injured in confrontation facing charges
The individual injured in a confrontation with Police will face charges. It all happened at the Sudbury bus terminal Easter Sunday. Included in the totally charges, the 24-year-old will answer to four counts of assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, and five counts each of assault with a weapon.
City Police respond to a number of collisions
The Winter weather arrived right on time Tuesday evening into the Wednesday… and the memory of +8 temperatures, at least in North Bay, were suddenly a thing of the past. Along with school buses being hauled off the road, the west entrance to the CFB North Bay, was closed due to whiteout conditions. Police closed the roadway between Carmichael Drive and Duxford Road, following a number of collisions.
Bid for paving recommended to city
Once warmer weather does come, the City of Timmins is slated to start up with road repairs if city council approve the latest tender for the purchase of asphalt. The city’s engineering department is recommending that the city accept the low tender at just over ½ million from a local company. The engineering office estimate for the asphalt was more than $667,000.
New needle bins coming to Sault Ste. Marie
Four new needle drop bins are on their way for Sault Ste. Marie. Algoma Public Health and the city says that after looking at the numbers from needles collected at two existing bins as well as where stray sharps have been found, the upgrade could be coming in the next month. There is no word on final location.
MPP Promising Provincial efforts for HSN
Job cuts continue at Health Sciences North, Sudbury Liberal MPP Glenn Thibeault says he is working ensure HSN, gets a healthy share of the $822 million in extra hospital funding the Premier announced March 22. HSN says they’re facing a $10 deficit this year… Thibeault said there are “other avenues” besides the $822 million he can draw upon for the hospital.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service has outstanding warrants for the arrest of Julie SAVARD.
It is alleged that in the early hours of March 18th, Julie SAVARD did assault three individuals with a weapon. At the time of the incident, SAVARD was on court ordered conditions.
