A quick and cheep charging chord may seem like a good deal, but could cost you more in the long run. Health Canada say that 2 months worth of testing has shown that out of 50 uncertified USB chargers bought across Canada, 30 posed an unacceptable risk of electric shock and fire. Those chargers, mainly sold at gas stations and dollar stores, have been recalled.
