4 people found deceased in vehicle

An investigation is continuing after four people were found deceased in a burnt-out vehicle just before the weekend. The discovery was made in the Timmins area. Police say that they are not yet sure if the person responsible was among those found… but they say that based on evidence so far, there is no concern for public safety.
 

Airport gets 1.7 million dollar boost

The Greater Sudbury Airport is getting more than $1.7 million of the Provinces money, headed toward transportation infrastructure. Sudbury MPP Glenn Thibeault was on hand to make the announcement. The province says the money will be used for upgrades to the airport’s water system, and that water supplies for fire suppression are up to standard.

The Anishinabek Police Service in the North Bay area is looking for a missing woman. Theresa Edwards is a 45-year-old female last seen in the North Bay area. She is

Police did not give any other details.
 

Northern Ontario Business hires 15

Heading north of Sault Ste. Marie, White River Forest Products says they have plans to hire 15 new workers. This is following a $1.9 million in support from Ontario’s Jobs and Prosperity Fund. A recent release says that the money will be spread over four years, and help the sawmill boost production by 30 per cent.
 

City of Sudbury collects OLG payment

The city of Greater Sudbury has received just over ½ million dollars. It’s a non-tax gaming revenue payment of $527,000 and change from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation. The amount for fiscal 2017-2018 was $38 million.
 

700,000 drivers suspended in Ontario

The OPP out of North Bay say they’ve charged at least 22 people this year with driving while under suspension. Overall, the OPP say they have more than 700,000 suspended drivers in the system, but many of those decide to drive all the same. Constable Shona Camairand says technology is helping to close the gap.
