Schumacher man roof-top escape

A Schumacher man may be a little worse for wear, but lucky all the same following a fire that gutted his two-story home on Vipond Road. The blaze broke out at around 3:00pm, driving the man to the roof. A neighbor spotted the blaze, called 911, and flagged down a driver with a ladder on his truck. They managed to get the man down. He was transported to hospital for treatment. The cause of the blaze is not known.
