Buses Cancelled in the North

SCHOOL BUSES are CANCELLED today for Sudbury, Espanola, Massey, Manitoulin, North Bay, Mattawa, Callander, West Nippising, East Ferris, and Timmins. Schools remain open.
 

Power Outage Slows Traffic

A power outage slowed traffic affecting the traffic lights at the busy Barrydowne/Kingsway intersection in Greater Sudbury. Police are on scene directing traffic.  At last report, power has been restored. Please use caution travelling in that area.
 

Wanted:  Julien Mongita-Boteta

The Greater Sudbury Police say that Julien Mongita-Boteta is wanted after he allegedly assaulted another individual at an establishment in the downtown area. While few details are known, Mongita-Boteta is known to reside in Sudbury He is described as 5-9, about 160 lbs with black hair and dark eyes.

 

Another building evacuated in the north

For the second time this week in the North a building had to be evacuated, due to unfit living conditions and code violations. As many as a dozen people in West Nipissing have been displaced after they were told to leave from the Champlain Motel. Officials say that issues regarding such as mould, water and heating were a problem.
 

Stay off the Ice – Coast Guard

For those living close to the Lake Michigan in the Sault Ste Marie area or on the Island near lake Huron…. a notification has come out from the Coast Guard. Stay off the ice. Unstable ice conditions are in place due to the warming temperatures. They say a number of great lakes have been effected.
 

Unwanted Person call leads to charges

A Timmins man remains in custody, after being out when he was not suppose to be. Kate Catin from Timmins Police spoke to KFM NEWS and says it all began with a call regarding an unwanted person.

He is facing seven charges including five counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
