Meanwhile Bus service could be coming to the Manitoulin in just under two months summer. This is after the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines along with the ONTC say inter-community bus service between Sudbury and Manitoulin Island communities, could start as early as mid-March of this year.
Two routes of the Island would see the bus travelling through M’Chigeeng, Gore Bay, Spring Bay, Mindemoya, the Slash, Manitowaning, Wiikwemkoong, Sheguiandahback to Little Current. In the morning, it would travel the same route in reverse in the morning.
