Missing: William ‘Billy’ McDonald, 35,

A Sault Ste. Marie man is missing. William ‘Billy’ McDonald, 35, is a Caucasian male with a light complexion. He is six-foot-two and weighs 180 pounds. McDonald has a scraggly beard and is balding with dark brown hair.
He has a tattoo of a set of praying hands on the left side of his neck. McDonald was last seen in the 400 block of Wallace Terrace between Jan. 20 and 23. Anyone with information about him can call Sault Ste. Marie Police Service at 705-949-6300.
 

School bus involved in crash

There was some uncertainty for a number of Sudbury Parents yesterday, waiting for word on collision, involving a school bus. It happened near the intersection of Elm Street and Ethelbert Street. Evidently, there were no injures to drivers or passengers of school bus. It is not clear what caused the crash.
 

Possible Casino location?

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited… is stacking the odds when it comes to making a move on a property in North bay. The former Nordfibre property on Eloy Road. Confirmation was given Tuesday that the gaming and entertainment operator has made a conditional offer to purchase. The city has not yet scheduled a public planning meeting regarding the proposed zoning change.
 

Programs pulled at Collège Boréal

Collège Boréal is suspending four of its programs on two of its campuses. Getting pulled are Electrical techniques, electrical engineering technician and culinary management in Timmins. In Hearst and Kapuskasing, the practical nursing program. In all, 12 programs across the college’s campuses are on the chopping block. The move is to, according to the college, ensure the programs offered closely aligned to labour market trends.
 

Study launched for safe injection site

It was a reluctant agreement… but an agreement all the same. Members of the community services committee in Greater Sudbury say they’re moving on a study that will look at setting up a safe injection site. The study will cost roughly $200,000 and will be done through the Ministry of Health and the North East LHIN.
 

Water main break in Sault Ste. Marie

Colder Temperatures continue to cause issues when it comes to city water. A water main break on Riverside Drive in Timmins has resulted in a loss of water to Walmart, Kal Tire and Maslack. In addition, residents between Emerald and Roblin also had no water. While some service has been restored, the city says repairs could take until Friday.
