MPP Wants Answers over “Over Crowding Crisis”
Health critic and Nickel Belt MPP, France Gélinas, wanted answers this week in regard to health care numbers, once again… after she says she visited a man in his 70’s housed in a hospital bathroom after being admitted for a painful back injury. Gélinas took up some of question Period to ask the Wynn Liberals to take action to reverse what the MPP called an overcrowding crisis.

33-year-old dies in fatal crash
A 33-year-old man is has died, after reports say his snowmobile struck a tree in the Walden area. Greater Sudbury Police say the collision occurred on an Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs trail, but the sled at one point… left the trail… hitting the tree.
Wanted: Lisa Quenneville, 39
The Greater Sudbury Police Service has outstanding warrants for the arrest Lisa Quenneville. Quenneville is wanted for breaching a court-ordered condition. She is wanted on a charge of failing to attend court. She is known to be in Sudbury. The accused is described as 40 years old, standing 5-10, weighing 190 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes.
2 break-ins under investigation
West Nipissing residents are being urged to keep an eye out for suspicious activity after a pair of break-ins over the past week. Details aside, West Nipissing Police Chief Chuck Seguin noted that in both incidents, the residents had been away for several days. Electronics were among items taken.
Trash collection, going private?
Sault Ste. Marie City Council have agreed to look at turning all residential trash collection over to the private sector. The most recent numbers compiled by the city show 14,560 pickups by contractors are compared to 12,307 pickups by city workers. The city’s annual labour, equipment and fuel costs for each stop is $39.38, compared to $33.70 by Municipal Waste and Recycling Consultants Inc. which operates under contract to the city.
24-charges on man from the GTA
A call from a Timmins Resident has landed an Etobicoke man in some touble, after he was allegedly seen looking through vehicles yesterday. Kate Catin says that while details of the investigation have not been released, it’s good that the call came in when it did.
The man is facing 24 charges.
