Sudbury Bus involved in a collision
A Sudbury bus came to a sudden stop yesterday in the city following a collision a vehicle. It happened yesterday evening on Paris Street. Police are not saying what caused the crash; there is no word as to injuries or charges.

It’s set to be state of the art, and not without opinion from both sides of the table. A public meeting has been called in Timmins to gather input about a new Multi-Use Recreation Centre. The design includes an eight-lane competition swimming pool, a separate leisure-therapy pool, a water-slide and water play centre, and a lazy river, and has received some pushback from some city councillors citing cost.
Details: The meeting has been called for Thursday March 8, 2018 between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Archie Dillon Sportsplex pool area.
113 tickets handed out… at one street corner
It was a hot spot for Police two months into 2018, and a point of contention for drivers. 113 tickets were handed out last month alone at the intersection of Gore Street and Albert Street West. The issue? Failure to obey the posted stop sign. Ninety-eight collisions were reported at the downtown corner last year.
36-year-old found with cash in pockets
Police out of West Nipissing, say they found a 36-year-old suspect with cash still in his pockets, following an alleged break in. This was after they responded to an alarm of a break-in at an area gas bar. Police say they found the man running the business and found him to be in possession of a large amount of cash including rolls of coins.
Man charged 7 times with impaired driving
A Sudbury man slated to have his day in court, is expected to enter pleas of guilt for his seventh charge of drinking and driving. Reports say that 53-year-old was not about to make court this week however, because he was ill. He’s also facing charges of driving while disqualified and driving while suspended. He will be in court next week.
Bridge registers 100 million’th crossing
The month of March started with notable crossing for the International Bridge in Sault Ste. Marie. The bridge had it’s 100 millionth crossing. The milestone was recognized shortly after yesterday morning at 9:0am. One motorist travelling in each direction between the Twin Saults was recognized with a gift package.
