The discussion is continuing this week, regarding a major building project in Greater Sudbury. This is after Ward 10 Coun. Fern Cormier found support to have city staff look for other downtown sites to host a new art gallery and library.
While the original plan was to build the art gallery, library and a $65-million convention centre on the Elgin Street land currently home to Sudbury Arena, it was all assuming the arena was moving to the Kingsway Entertainment District.
Now, with a legal fight underway regarding the KED, it unclear when the arena will be available for the project.
