Fiddling with the stereo, eating or drinking, or doing your make-up. All actions that could be described as distracted driving, should they cause an accident – say the OPP. The latest Distracted Driving Campaign will be running all next week. Last year alone, inattentive drivers were behind 83 road fatalities on OPP-patrolled roads in 2017, surpassing speed-related deaths, alcohol/drug-related fatalities, and those linked to lack of seat belt use (49).
