Fatal collision closes Highway 17 yesterday, west of North Bay

North Bay Police responded to a fatal head-on collision yesterday on Highway 17. It happened just before 1 pm on Highway 17 West Sunday afternoon, at Nipissing First Nation, west of Trap and Skeet Road. The driver of the eastbound vehicle suffered serious non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the westbound vehicle was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The passenger of the westbound vehicle was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The highway reopened at around 6:30 pm. The investigation continues.
