VALE spending $150 mil to expand operations…. in Manitoba

Vale Ltd. in Greater Sudbury says they will spend $150 million to extend current mining activities in Thompson, Man. by a decade. Vale says this is the largest single investment we have made in Thompson operations in the past twenty years. This is as 2400 workers in Greater Sudbury are still on strike. They’ve been on the picket lines for more than a month. No new talks are scheduled.
